BC’s top restaurant fundraiser, Dining Out for Life, is partnering with BC Restaurant and Pub Association (brpa) Executive Chef Ned Bell, the man behind YEW Restaurant and Bar in the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver. The idea is to enlist support from local restaurateurs to help raise funds for the Canadian AIDS Society (cacha), who have been a major source of support to the local restaurant industry in BC.
The partnership is a great way to promote a new restaurant at the YEW and show the residents that it will have the money to be able to pay its bills. It also provides a way for local chefs to get involved with the cause while working at a respected establishment. As more residents are diagnosed with AIDS/HIV and more communities begin to accept people who have the disease and begin to offer support, this type of collaboration will help make sure the cause gets the attention it needs.
As part of the fundraiser, the YEW restaurant will offer special menu items, including appetizers, sandwiches, entrees, and desserts for its patrons. There will also be a donation option that allows patrons to make a donation to the cause, as well as a thank you note for the support the restaurant has shown for the community. There are also some great giveaways and discounts that will be offered to the patrons who make donations. Some of these include a bottle of wine, champagne, dinner plates, and silverware.
It’s a good idea to purchase your tickets early so that you can be at the table waiting to order as soon as the event begins.
